Our Story

Lisbeth Landrau

Hi, I’m Liz, Co-Founder of Bee & Frog. I’ve been working with children for over five years in a variety of roles, including afterschool programs, infant and toddler classrooms, and as a nanny in the local community. My time as a toddler teacher is where I truly fell in love with learning through play, creating hands-on activities that help children explore, build important developmental skills, and grow with confidence.

Bee & Frog was created from my passion for bringing meaningful early learning experiences to families in the community. I believe young children learn best when they can use their senses, through music, movement, creativity, and play, and I hope to create joyful spaces where children can explore, build language skills, and be gently introduced to Spanish in a fun and natural way.

Frogs have always held a special place in my heart. Being half Puerto Rican, I grew up hearing about the coquí, a tiny tree frog known for its beautiful song. The sound of the coquí reminds me of family, warmth, and home, and that sense of connection is something I hope Bee & Frog can bring to the children and families who join us.

Marylin Landrau

Hi! My name is Marylin, and I am the co founder of Bee and Frog.

I am a social worker and therapist with a Master’s in Social Work, and I specialize in working with children and families from birth to age five. Over the years, I have worked in the mental health field supporting young children and their caregivers, and I have also had the opportunity to manage a mental health clinic focused on early childhood.

Through my work, I have seen how powerful early experiences are in shaping how children explore the world, build relationships, and grow with confidence. As a therapist, I deeply value community and the importance of spaces where children can play, connect, and feel loved and supported alongside their families.

I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and creating a space where young children can experience language through play, music, and connection felt like a natural extension of my work.

Bee and Frog grew out of that vision, bringing together the beauty of childhood exploration, community, and immersive Spanish learning for little ones.

Fun fact about me is that I have always loved bees, which is part of the inspiration behind the name Bee and Frog.
